Clifford’s Disc Di2 CX Race Bike

Posted by Appleman Bicycles in Bikes, Blog

I sent this bike off to Cyclocross Magazine for review.  It’s designed for CX racing.  Clifford already had a great position on his old bike, but I customized the geometry of the new frame to get rid of toe overlap and lower the BB a few mm.

We decked out the build with the new Shimano Dura Ace 9070 Di2 parts and HED Stinger 3 tubular wheels.  Since the Stinger wheels are made in Minnesota, HED customized the layup for the impacts of cyclocross.

The logos are blue decals with ballistic grade Kevlar panels.  The frame is drilled for both Di2 and internal routing for mechanical shifting.  The internal routing uses are completely hidden, no-fish design. Topped off with an AppleStem integrated bar, this bike is 100% Appleman style!

Matt, every frame you make looks better. That’s one gorgeous bicycle. And, as you know, this is coming from a dyed in the wool, old school steel man.

In about a week, go over and check out the racks Vincent is making for me. :-)

Thanks for the kind words! This was a very fun frame to build and that can be seen in the detail and craftsmanship of the work.
