Lumberjack Weekend

Posted by Appleman Bicycles in Blog, Rides

I don’t race as much as I used to, but when I do, it’s fun!  This weekend I participated in the TriBarnes triathlon in northern Wisconsin.

Before you think I’m some tri-guy, let me explain.  TriBarnes is a burly/lumberjack style triathlon with a mountain bike/canoe/trail run race that is low key, fun, and great for a first time triathlete!  The mountain bike course was constantly rolling hills through the forest.  The canoe went around the windy Tomahawk Lake, and then it was back into the woods for the run…uffda.

Located in the lumberjack/logging land of Barnes, Wisconsin, I managed to ride my Lumberjack Mountain Bike to the lead in the bike portion and end up 3rd after the canoe and run (not my strengths).

Appleman cycling clothes are available!  Email me if you want to ride in style.  I have jersey’s, shorts, cycling caps, and socks available.

I took the lead in the bike early on and managed to hang on until the canoe!

I’m no runner, but my Appleman gear helped me to the finish… I like matching!
